Len Silver – End of Season

A great season over now and we are all back in the UK.  Left with plenty of snow still on the pistes and a few staff members led by Chef Dan of the Bon Coin, remaining in La Plagne to enjoy it.

My Dynastar X84 Legends were such a pleasure to ski in all conditions and I am investing in what will be the equivalent ski for the 2019/20 season.  A reminder that we can supply whichever Dynastar Ski you seek at a 25% discount for delivery in UK.  I would expect the new season skis to be available around September.  Early bookings look very good with a level higher than last year at this time.  I may well spend some practice time at Chatham ski slope during the summer where I am told, Dendix has been re-installed.

Len – Dateline Monday April 8th

After a week back in the UK to start my preparations for the new Speedway season, I was on the Silver Ski ‘plane from Gatwick early on Sunday morning together with all my family, daughter, Jackie, 3 grandchildren and now 4 great grandchildren.  Twins Isla and Ellis (9 on Tuesday), Albie now just over 3 and latest recruit, Eden, a very smiley one year old.

After a heavy overnight snowfall, we hit the piste at 9.30 to find that perfect combination, light powder on the piste.  For about an hour or so we revelled in the super conditions.  But as the morning progressed all 4 generations together found the going getting tougher and tougher as the fresh snow began piling up into soft but sometimes sticky moguls.  None the less, in spite of the harder work necessary, Inversens, was a delight from top to bottom and wore us out in time for lunch at Monica’s.  Albie’s father, Tony, was working harder than the rest of us as he guided and sometimes carried young Albie who, even at 3 years old, already shows the right signs.

After lunch the twins pleaded and cajoled us into doing the “Fun Run” down the Arpette.  The tight confines of the narrow and curvy piste as the sun disappeared, made it highly “interesting” for the adults but a “Gas” for the kids who straight lined it from the top to the bottom with a couple of crashes on the way for good measure.

All in all, a memorable and enjoyable day of Spring ski-ing.

Chalet Saffron, La Plagne – 31st March 2019

Dear Karen

We are just returning from our trip with Silver Ski and I wanted to write and thank you.  We have had a fabulous week at Chalet Saffron.  The resort was great and Kim and Elliot were just amazing.  From the minute they met us all off the coach they were welcoming, friendly and thoughtful.  The food was really lovely, tasty and hearty, just what you need after a day on the slopes.  Kim even made a birthday cake for my sons 12th birthday.

I can’t thank you enough for making our holiday so special.  They were a real asset to Silver Ski and I hope we get to see them again next year.

Kind regards, Fiona and family

Chalet Bonin, La Plagne – 31st March 2019

Hi Silver Ski

I have just returned from staying in Chalet Bonin in La Plagne.  This was my first skiing holiday and I went with my 10 year old son.

I just wanted to send you a quick email to say thank you for a fabulous holiday.

More than anything else, I wanted to let you know how fantastic Mel and Dave who were running the chalet were.  They were extremely welcoming and provided us with excellent help and advice as first time skiers.  Over the week, they were clearly very well planned and organised in everything they did – but did it in a way to create a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.  Both Mel and Dave are very engaging and funny, and professional.  They were truly super – they made a good holiday great – worth their weight in gold!

It’s nice to get a chance to say such nice things about good people.

Many thanks for our fabulous holiday – already looking forward to next year!

Chalet Saffron, La Plagne – 24th March 2019

We came across the world to ski, please stay in Saffron was the Silver plea!

So on a Gatwick flight we came across and found Tottenhams Elliott the chalet boss!

The sun shone brightly every day and on the slopes we loved to play.

With Cleethorp’s Martin we chose to ski!  ‘Keep close behind’ was his usual plea.

Ilene was a real ski whizz and hit the slopes with my dear wife Liz.

Advancing years were slowing me down and on many runs I was a ‘clown’.

Pat was our other dear ski mate but was slow to reach the ski lift gate!

She hit the slopes with several falls and felt the pistes were a load of balls.

Neil and Phil would ski all day and work very hard to get Nick to play.

And so with joy the week went bye and chalet guests gave a happy cry!

Now we all must head for home, the snowy slopes no more to roam.

So enjoy ‘life’ you happy lot and don’t let ‘SILVER’ loose the plot!

Chalet Jacqueline, La Tania – 24th March 2019

We stayed at Chalet Jacqueline from 24th of March, I would like to let you know Howard & Angela were the perfect hosts.  Although the chalet is a little cramped in the lounge area, it was kept in clean and tidy condition and the food was ample and very tasty.  We have skied with Silver Ski for over twenty years and this was definitely one of our best trips.  Please pass our thanks and best wishes to Howard & Angela.

Regards, Andrew
