La Tania Resort Information
La Tania is in the Courchevel valley of Les Trois Vallees and is an excellent base for a family ski holiday in this vast area. Traffic free, it is designed to be pedestrian friendly and with very good ski access. Take the La Tania telecabine out of the village then a chairlift or drag lift before choosing between skiing to Courchevel or Meribel. There is a choice of red, blue or green ski runs back to La Tania.

Ski La Tania & the Three Valleys: Les Trois Vallees needs little introduction as one of the world`s great ski holiday destinations. It incorporates the ski resorts of Courchevel (including La Tania), Meribel and Val Thorens, and with 200 ski lifts, 600km of pistes and 1500 snow cannons, you can be assured of quality skiing throughout the winter ski season. In the Courchevel Valley there is a huge selection of skiing to suit every level of skier. Beginners have the use of a free draglift on La Tania`s nursery slopes, allowing them to learn basic techniques before graduating to the blue runs above La Tania itself. For intermediates there are superb red runs from the top of Saulire, as well as the chance to explore further afield. At the end of the day you can ski back to La Tania by either taking the red run that winds down to the resort, the blue run “Les Folyeres”, or the green “Plan Fontaine” which takes you down through the trees and all the way back to the village.

One of the greatest things about skiing in the 3 Valleys is that anyone who can ski even modestly can ski the whole ski area without leaving blue pistes. The seemingly endless range of runs has produced a whole generation of skiers who never go anywhere else.

Advanced and intermediate skiers and snowboarders head for the more challenging terrain off the Mont de la Chambre, Mont Vallon and the Col du Fruit at the head of the valley.

La Tania apres ski: There are a number of shops, 6 bars and 8 restaurants within the resort including a Michelin star restaurant. Live music can be found at the Ski Lodge Pub and La Taiga bar / restaurant. La Tania offers a friendly, family atmosphere and has the rare benefit of being away from the main hustle of the bigger resorts whilst still maintaining excellent access to the slopes. There is a small “relaxation” pool in the Hotel Montana that is open to the public from 5-9pm. A cinema, a crèche, and, of course, ski schools complete the facilities of this friendly village.

Chalet Jacqueline La Tania

Just returned from an excellent week at Chalet Jacqueline with Ian and Trudi who coped brilliantly with the lack of power for the first two days and then produced an outstanding Xmas dinner. The whole week was a great success and it was good to meet up with Ian and Trudi again, previously fellow guests in Reberty years ago and now running an excellent chalet.
